#marcustherescue & @ash_n_stuff

My most memorable and touching foster experience would be Marcus.

The rescue had these pictures posted on their Facebook of a sad pittie with tubes coming out of him everywhere, asking for someone to foster him until he healed (he was either used in fighting or just in a horrible fight). We had another foster already, but I figured he would just be relaxing in his crate while he was here. Just days after surgery he was bouncing around in his crate, barking and smacking his cone up against the sides. He drove us crazy! Lol. But we...

@lorenzoamericanbulldog & Analicia

I found out I was going to be living on my own and knew I wanted a rescue to come with me. I have always loved American bulldogs, and one weekend the Austin Animal Center in Austin, TX had a free adoption weekend. I showed up and found Lorenzo, skinny, shy, and covered in demodex mange. I took him out to the play area and all he wanted to do was snuggle and kiss and love on me.

I knew right then and there I had to have him. I took him home that day and he has...

@dieselthepittie, Maddy, Harley & Jen

Diesel was from a breeder that had way too many dogs and turned into a hoarding situation. A local shelter that helped rescue the dogs was asking for help with fosters for all the dogs. I wasn't able to foster more than one dog at that time because of the house I was renting, but I went and met a few of the mamas and puppies. I saw Diesel and he immediately crawled into my lap and went to sleep.  I knew I had to have him.  He's been with me for almost 9 years now.

Maddy was a surprise adoption.  Diesel was...

@puckthepit & Stacy

The day I brought a pit bull baby bundle home was the day I became an advocate for these precious lives and the day I changed my husbands view.  We had been thinking of adding another dog to our home but we didn't agree on what kind. I was set on a pit bull and Ken, a lab...he was completely against a pit bull. He had never owned one and only knew what he had seen in the media...like so many other Americans.  He had owned labs and loved them for their drive of fetching and retrieving.... he had also...

@ruscosaurus & Josh

We met Rusco for the first time in October at the Irvine Animal Shelter.  He had been at the shelter for two months when his partner Lucy and he were dropped off by an irresponsible owner.  All the workers at the shelter referred to Rusco as the gentle giant.  He weighed 86 pounds at the time but he only required a flimsy leash as he did not pull or tug.

When we saw him, it was love at first sight and he came home with us.  Since his adoption, we were able to get in contact with his...
